My name is Jandamarra Cadd and amongst the immeasurable creative expressions within my life is the love of painting. For the past 18 years painting has been a way of life in which I’m able to share what touches me to the core of my being. It has been an evolutionary journey that has brought me to the present where I share messages of love and unity the imagery. I currently live in the town of Pomona within the Sunshine Coast hinterland. I’m 34 years of age and I am of Aboriginal and European decent. My indigenous bloodline comes from my mothers people ‘ the Yorta Yorta in Victoria and Swedish and Scottish from my father.
The viewer can easily see the combination of these two culturally different influences within my pieces. As the end product shares the narrative of unity it is a mere reflection of the journey that is partaken by myself not only as an artist but as a human being. I find myself in the intimate process of painting reconciling the many aspects of my life from past to present.
I am inspired by those individuals who continually break through environmental or self imposed limitations to seek out truth and share it with others. One such artist who has done this George Gittoes. All stages of expression with each individual painting takes its form from the seed of universal love whether it be portraying the unique essence of someone through a portrait or sharing a whole narrative through the medium of the indigenous dot style.
Universal love for me is the underlining essence that binds all of life and runs a thread of unified truth through all individual experiences. If any of my paintings give an insight into what is at the core of us all then my intention has been received….
God bless, Jandamarra
